A rescue center in Southport is seeking help after eight puppies were found abandoned in freezing conditions
Southport: An urgent call for help has come from a rescue center after eight adorable puppies were found dumped in a cardboard box. They were left out in the cold, and it’s just heartbreaking.
The Responsible Dog Rescue stepped in to save these little ones who were abandoned in freezing temperatures last month. These puppies, just two months old, were brought over from Romania, where a rescuer had been volunteering.
Alex Bailey, the kennel manager, shared how lucky these pups were to be found. She said they wouldn’t have made it much longer if they had been left outside. It was getting colder and darker, and they were just left in the snow.
Thankfully, a rescuer spotted them just in time. If they had been dumped a day later, they might not have survived the harsh weather. It’s a relief they made it to safety.
The Responsible Dog Rescue, founded in 2022, has been a lifeline for mistreated animals. Rachael O’Regan, who started the rescue with her husband, has helped rehome over 1,600 dogs, especially those rescued from Romania.
Rachael often gets asked why they rescue from Romania when there are so many dogs in the UK needing homes. Her answer is simple: these dogs come from terrible conditions and deserve a chance at life.
However, rescuing dogs from Romania is putting a strain on their funding. Alex mentioned they really need help. They’re looking for volunteers to assist in turning these pups’ lives around.
The puppies are already happier at the kennels, thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers. But they’re in desperate need of supplies like puppy food, beds, and other essentials to prepare them for their forever homes.
It’s a tough situation, but with a little help, these puppies can have the lives they deserve.
