Starmer, who’s the leader of the Labour Party, has had to defend himself against these claims, saying that people spreading lies aren’t really interested in the victims.
This whole grooming scandal has been a big deal since prosecutions started back in 2010. Thousands of young girls have been victims, and towns like Rotherham and Rochdale have been at the center of it all. A report from 2014 estimated that around 1,400 children were exploited in Rotherham alone, mostly by men of Pakistani heritage.
