Essex: The local fire service is reaching out to residents for their thoughts on what should be prioritized in the next few years. They’ve put together a draft Community Risk Management Plan that highlights five key areas to focus on for keeping everyone safe.

They want to hear from you through a survey, which is open until February 19. It’s a chance for you to agree or disagree with their proposed goals. Chief fire officer Rick Hylton emphasized how important your feedback is for shaping a plan that meets the community’s needs.

These goals were influenced by feedback from a previous consultation last year. The five priorities include preventing fires, improving safety in homes and businesses, ensuring quick emergency responses, promoting diversity within the service, and preparing for future challenges like climate change.

Roger Hirst, the police, fire, and crime commissioner for Essex, encourages everyone to participate. He said, “This is your chance to have your say. We want to prevent more fires and save more lives.”
