The Metropolitan Police has submitted evidence regarding a Premier League player accused of rape to prosecutors for review
Barnet: So, the Metropolitan Police have handed over a complete evidence file about a Premier League footballer who’s facing some serious rape allegations. This all started back in July 2022 when he was arrested for an incident involving a woman in her 20s.
But it gets more complicated. While he was in custody, they also arrested him for allegedly raping another woman in April and June of 2021. However, they later decided not to pursue the June case because the laws at that time didn’t apply.
Fast forward to February 2023, and he was interviewed about another sexual offence that supposedly happened in Barnet in February 2022. Scotland Yard has confirmed that he’s still under investigation for various alleged sexual offences from 2021 to 2023.
A spokesperson from the Met said they’re looking into multiple reports of alleged sexual offences during that time. They also mentioned that a full file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, and detectives are working closely with the prosecutors.
It’s worth noting that the player has denied all the allegations against him. The situation is still developing, and those who reported the incidents are receiving support from the police.
