A former police officer is in court for misconduct involving a vulnerable woman he met during an investigation
Leicester: So, a former cop named Daniel Jackson just showed up in court. He’s facing some serious charges for allegedly getting involved with a vulnerable woman while he was on duty.
This all went down at Leicester Magistrates’ Court, where they heard he’s been charged with misconduct in public office. Apparently, he was leading an investigation when he met this woman.
According to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, he’s accused of pursuing personal contact and having a sexual relationship with her. Not cool, right?
The allegations are said to have happened between May and June 2022. The whole thing kicked off when the police watchdog got a referral from the Leicestershire force back in June 2022.
Jackson, who used to work for Leicestershire Police, resigned in September 2022. When he appeared in court, he was dressed in a navy suit and only spoke to confirm his details.
He’s been granted unconditional bail and is set to enter a plea at Leicester Crown Court on February 24. We’ll have to see how this unfolds.
