A 60-year-old former substitute teacher faces charges for allegedly showing explicit images to elementary students in Florida
Lake Wales: So, there’s this wild story coming out of Florida. A former substitute teacher named Gayle Wessell, who’s 60, got herself into some serious trouble.
Apparently, she showed some pretty explicit photos to a group of elementary school kids while she was on the job. Can you believe that?
The police got involved after the school found out about it and called them in early November. They had to check things out, and it turns out Wessell had a stash of explicit images on her phone.
When the cops talked to her, they noticed she was trying to delete some of those images. She even admitted to showing them to the kids. Yikes!
After that, she was arrested on six counts of showing obscene material to minors. It’s a pretty serious deal. And get this—she’s got a criminal record that includes some pretty sketchy stuff like trespassing and battery.
It’s a bit baffling how she even got to be a substitute teacher with that kind of history. The school wasted no time and fired her as soon as the investigation kicked off.
Right now, the police are still looking into the situation but don’t think there are any other victims outside of that classroom. Just a really unsettling story all around.
