A woman’s social media plea leads to a surprising reunion with a rail worker.
Faversham: A woman’s quest for a mystery man has everyone buzzing. It all started with a Facebook post in the Faversham Residents Group. She was trying to find a “friendly and attractive” rail worker she met at the station.
They chatted while she waited for her train, and she felt a spark. But before she could ask if he was single, they were rushed onto the train. So, she decided to take a chance and post about it online.
In her message, she described him as having a nice smile and wanted to know if anyone could help her find him. She even mentioned her big white fluffy scarf and sunglasses, hoping someone would recognize her description.
People in the group loved the story and were eager to help. Comments poured in, with many cheering her on. One person even said it reminded them of “Gavin & Stacey” vibes, which made everyone smile.
Then, the unexpected happened! The mystery man, 33-year-old Shaun Backett, saw the post and replied. He remembered their chat about how cold it was that day. The woman was thrilled and quickly responded, hoping it hadn’t freaked him out.
Shaun, who works for Southeastern and lives in Sheerness, was happy to see the post. He said he appreciated the recognition for his customer service skills. He’s all about being professional at work but also enjoys connecting with people.
While he hasn’t met the woman yet, he’s open to chatting more. He joked about the whole situation, saying it was surreal but he’s focused on doing his job well. It’s nice to see how a simple encounter can spark such excitement in a community!
