The family of John George is devastated after a body was discovered in Spain, leading to a murder investigation and an arrest.
Alicante: A tragic turn of events has unfolded as a body was found while searching for John George, a father who went missing in Spain. Local police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
John, a 37-year-old from Belfast, hadn’t returned home to his kids before Christmas, which raised alarms. His family, including his father Billy and brother Darren, joined volunteers to search the area.
On January 7, the search led to a grim discovery in Rojales, near Valencia. A police spokesperson mentioned they’re working on identifying the body and determining the cause of death.
Sadly, Darren had already feared the worst after John disappeared while supposedly picking up his passport on December 14. He expressed his anguish, saying he’s done everything possible to find his brother.
His sister shared her heartbreak on Facebook, mourning the loss of her protective brother. Billy, their father, laid flowers at the site where the body was found, expressing his sorrow and disbelief.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland is now involved, offering support to the family during this difficult time. They’re also urging anyone with information to come forward to assist the investigation.
