Nigel Farage insists his relationship with Elon Musk remains strong despite recent disagreements over political support
Esher: So, Nigel Farage recently said he’s on good terms with Elon Musk. This comes after some back-and-forth about leadership in Reform UK. Farage mentioned that Musk had some thoughts on the party needing a new leader.
He told the BBC that he doesn’t think there’s any long-term issue between them. Musk had previously said Farage “doesn’t have what it takes” to lead, but Farage seems pretty chill about it.
Earlier, he made it clear on Sky News that he won’t be pushed around. There was a bit of tension last weekend, especially since Farage hasn’t supported Tommy Robinson, a far-right activist Musk has backed before.
Farage explained that they had a disagreement because Musk wanted him to support Robinson more strongly. But he reassured everyone that Musk has retweeted him several times since then, so it’s all good.
He emphasized that they both want to avoid conflict and share similar goals. When asked about their private chats, Farage kept it vague but confirmed they’re on very good terms.
He also mentioned that he won’t change his beliefs for anyone, even if it leads to some short-term fallout. Musk was rumored to be considering a big donation to Reform before his comments stirred things up.
They met last December at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, which Farage called a historic moment. At a recent conference, he joked about having good and bad days, which got a laugh from the crowd.
Farage also criticized some councils for wanting to delay local elections, calling it “political cowardice.” He’s not holding back on his opinions, that’s for sure.
During his speech, he welcomed new members from the Conservatives, showing that Reform UK is still making moves. It’s been a busy time for him and the party.
