A Forest Hill man was arrested after police found evidence linking him to drug dealing through photos on his phone
Forest Hill: Michael Babalola, 24, was caught up in the drug scene with his brother Olusegun. They were running a pretty shady operation together.
The trouble started in May 2023 when police raided Olusegun’s place in Peterborough. They found over £7,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine stashed in a tissue box. Talk about a bad hiding spot!
Even though there wasn’t direct evidence tying Michael to the drugs at his brother’s flat, his phone told a different story. Cops found photos of him flaunting cash, Rolex watches, and other fancy stuff.
They also discovered signs of him dealing bulk cannabis on his phone. Not a good look, right?
In December, Michael got hit with a two years and eight months prison sentence after he admitted to being involved in cannabis supply and having criminal property.
His brother Olusegun, who’s 26, was sentenced to eight years and three months in September 2023 for his role in supplying drugs.
Detective Constable Olly Campbell, who was on the case, said they’re serious about cracking down on crime and drug dealing in Cambridgeshire, especially from people coming in from other areas.
Thanks to the investigation into Olusegun, they were able to uncover Michael’s activities too. It’s a tough lesson for the brothers.
