A dog was found abandoned in a freezing car boot after a crash in Aston, prompting warnings about leaving pets in vehicles.
The West Midlands Fire Service got the call early in the morning. They arrived to find the dog trapped in the boot of a Volkswagen Passat. The firefighters were shocked to see the dog had been left there overnight in such cold weather.
Aston Fire Station shared the news on social media, showing pictures of the damaged car and the dog’s kennel inside the boot. They made it clear that leaving animals in freezing conditions is a big no-no.
The police were also on the scene, and they took the dog into their care. They used dog catcher poles to safely lead the brown dog into their van. The fire station reminded everyone to be responsible and not leave pets in extreme temperatures.
As for the driver, there’s no word yet on what happened to them. The police are looking into it, but the focus right now is on the well-being of the dog.
