A couple returning from Manchester Airport fell victim to a burglary at their Wrexham home after being tracked by thieves
Wrexham: So, here’s the scoop. A couple just got back from Manchester Airport when they were followed home by three burglars. These guys had even rented a car to tail the couple’s chauffeur-driven ride.
Once they got to the couple’s house, they made their move. While the couple was busy unpacking, the thieves snatched a briefcase right from their hallway. It was a real low blow, especially since the briefcase had a bunch of important stuff in it, like cash and sensitive documents.
When the husband came back downstairs, he spotted one of the burglars slipping out. That’s when he realized the briefcase was missing. He called his driver, who confirmed he hadn’t taken it, and rushed back to check.
Turns out, the briefcase had $400, £100, some Thai currency, and crucial business papers. The police were called, and they quickly traced the hired car that had been following the couple.
The next day, they stopped the car on the M602 and arrested all three guys inside. They were from London, but one of them had entered the UK illegally after a wild journey from France.
During the court hearing, it was clear that the burglary had really shaken the couple. The wife said she felt unsafe in her own home now, which is just heartbreaking. They even have a child with special needs, making things even tougher for them.
All three burglars got two years in jail, and they might be deported afterward. The judge noted that they had planned this out pretty well. It’s a sad situation all around, but at least justice is being served.
