A local man has initiated a GoFundMe to assist families impacted by recent flooding in Grantham
Grantham: A GoFundMe page has been created to help those hit hard by flooding. The River Witham overflowed on Belton Lane, causing serious water damage.
Several homes along that stretch were affected, leaving families in a tough spot. Matthew Ash, a local resident, is leading the charge to raise funds for those impacted.
He mentioned, “There’s going to be a big change for many due to the damage.” While some think insurance will cover the losses, that’s not always the case.
Matthew, who’s part of New Hope International Church, plans to meet with church trustees to decide how to allocate the funds raised. He’s been known for spreading holiday cheer in Grantham, even dressing as Santa recently.
“You never know when you might need help,” he said. He believes in treating others how you’d want to be treated, especially in tough times.
Matthew added, “It’s not just about the homes; it’s also about people’s mental health.” He feels it’s crucial for the Grantham community to come together during this challenging time.
