Prudhoe Youth Project will take over Happy Faces, enhancing support for neurodiverse youth through expanded activities and resources.
Prudhoe: Happy Faces has been a beloved charity for over seven years, and now it’s joining forces with Prudhoe Youth Project (PYP). This month marks a new chapter for both organizations.
Happy Faces has been all about supporting neurodiverse young people. They’ve offered fun activities like bowling nights and family trips, creating a welcoming space for everyone.
It all started with a group of parents wanting more social opportunities for their kids. Now that their children have grown, they’re passing the torch to PYP.
Amanda Carr, the chairwoman of Happy Faces, shared how rewarding the journey has been. She’s excited about the future and trusts PYP to keep the spirit alive.
PYP has been around since 2018 and has really expanded. They’ve got a solid team and run multiple youth sessions each week.
Gemma Nixon, the Youth Project Manager, reassured everyone that the transition will be smooth. They’ve been collaborating with Happy Faces for years, so they know the ropes.
Gemma emphasized the importance of continuing support for SEN young people. The staff from Happy Faces will stay on, ensuring everything runs just like before.
They’re also looking forward to adding more projects and trips, which is super exciting for the kids!
