The Sussexes lend support to wildfire victims in Los Angeles, offering shelter and essentials to those affected by the devastating fires
Los Angeles: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been spotted helping out those impacted by the wildfires. These fires have left many people, including celebrities, without homes.
The couple opened their Montecito home to friends and family who needed a safe place to stay. They’ve also been donating essential items to those affected.
On Friday, they were seen handing out food at the Pasadena Convention Centre, which is now serving as an evacuation center. They even shared a heartfelt hug with Jose Andres, who runs World Central Kitchen and is providing meals for those in need.
Meghan kept it casual in a light blue shirt and cap, while Harry wore a black outfit. They also met with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, who praised their efforts and said they really lifted the spirits of first responders.
As the wildfires continue to spread in Southern California, sources say the Sussexes are preparing for a possible evacuation. Their security team is working on an emergency plan to keep their kids, Archie and Lilibet, safe.
A neighbor mentioned, “It’s not chaos here yet, but the fire is moving fast, and we’re not taking any chances.”
In light of the fires, Harry and Meghan, along with their community, received safety kits with important items like solar chargers and flashlights, plus food and water.
Before things got urgent, the couple had already supported fire service charities and encouraged others to help out. They released a statement about the wildfires, urging people to contribute to relief efforts.
They said, “Wildfires in Southern California have devastated families and homes. If you want to help, here are some resources.”
Harry and Meghan also encouraged people to offer shelter to friends or pets needing to evacuate and to check on elderly neighbors.
“Some families have lost everything. Please consider donating essentials like clothing and toys. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”
Sadly, the wildfires have claimed 10 lives and caused massive destruction, displacing thousands, including in areas popular with celebrities.
Paris Hilton has been sharing her heartbreak over losing her home, which she saw burn on live TV. She described the experience as “hell” on earth and expressed her sorrow on Instagram.
She reflected on the memories made in her home and shared her gratitude that her family and pets are safe, sending prayers to all affected by the fires.
