The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought comfort and food to evacuees in Pasadena amid ongoing wildfires devastating the area
Pasadena: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to help those affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. They were seen hugging residents and chatting with them, showing their support during this tough time.
On Friday, they met with Pasadena’s mayor, Victor Gordo, and emergency workers dealing with the Eaton Fire. This fire has caused a lot of destruction, burning nearly 14,000 acres and taking six lives.
Harry and Meghan were busy handing out food to evacuees at the Pasadena Convention Center. Meghan wore a blue “LA” baseball cap, and they both looked genuinely concerned for the people they were helping.
They also spoke with chef Jose Andres, who runs World Central Kitchen. This organization has set up spots around California to provide free meals to those affected by the fires.
Meghan even chatted with Doug Goodwin, a local whose home was lost in the flames. Mayor Gordo mentioned that the couple had been serving food earlier without anyone knowing it, just wanting to help.
They didn’t come for the spotlight; they just wanted to lend a hand. After serving food, they visited families impacted by the fires and thanked first responders for their hard work.
The couple, who live about 90 miles away in Montecito, have also donated supplies like clothing and toys to those in need. They encouraged others to help out, too, by opening their homes or donating essentials.
Harry and Meghan’s message was clear: if you can help someone who’s been evacuated, please do. They even invited friends affected by the fires to stay with them.
