A teenager on trial for murder reportedly told an inmate he would repeat the act
Croydon: So, there’s this 18-year-old named Hassan Sentamu on trial for murder. He allegedly killed a 15-year-old girl named Elianne Andam. It all went down over a teddy bear outside a shopping center last September.
During the trial, it came out that while in custody, he told another inmate he would “do it again.” Can you believe that? He was apparently pretty angry about something that happened before the stabbing.
Sentamu claims he lost control because of his autism spectrum disorder. But the prosecution argues that there’s no solid proof that his condition made him act violently. They say he was just mad about a previous incident.
The prosecutor painted a picture of him taking a knife to the scene to show he was in charge. It’s a pretty intense situation, especially since Elianne was just trying to get away from him.
His defense lawyer admitted that what happened was a huge overreaction. They’re trying to highlight his autism history as a key point in the case. Sentamu has admitted to manslaughter but denies murder and having a weapon.
