Las Vegas: A decorated Green Beret named Matthew Livelsberger, 37, tragically took his own life after causing a Cybertruck explosion on New Year’s Day. Investigators found he was battling PTSD.

Just days before the incident, he received divorce papers, which likely added to his distress. He drove a Tesla filled with fuel canisters to the Trump International Hotel, where he triggered the explosion.

The blast injured seven people and raised fears, especially since another violent incident had just occurred in New Orleans. While some drew parallels between Livelsberger and the shooter, investigators clarified that he was a victim of mental health issues.

Interestingly, the FBI revealed that Livelsberger and the New Orleans shooter used the same rental service, but they had no connection. Livelsberger left behind notes indicating his actions were not a terrorist attack.

His former partner, Alicia Arritt, shared that he had suffered a brain injury during his military service. She described him as incredibly kind and mentioned that he reached out to her shortly before his death to show off the Cybertruck.
