Saltcoats: A murder trial is on the horizon after Jordan Honeyman denied killing Alan Lawson. The trial is set for November, and it’s going to be a big deal.

Honeyman, who’s 30, pleaded not guilty to five charges related to the incident that happened back in February 2024. He’s accused of murdering Lawson at a property on Alexander Avenue in Largs.

Prosecutors say Honeyman assaulted Lawson in some pretty brutal ways, including punching and kicking him, and even jumping on him from a staircase. It sounds intense.

They also claim he did some really awful things, like scalding Lawson’s feet and not getting him medical help, which led to Lawson’s death at Crosshouse Hospital on February 6.

Honeyman is currently in custody and faces another charge for allegedly threatening another man and his family during the same time frame. It’s said he made threats and even sent a disturbing video of Lawson while he was injured.

There’s also a charge against him for assaulting this other man in Ardrossan. It seems like things were pretty chaotic during that period.

Another guy, Bryan Carey, is also involved and has denied a charge related to trying to cover up the crime. They’re accused of getting rid of bloodstained items and cleaning up to hide what happened.

After their not guilty pleas were entered during a virtual hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, the judge set the trial date for November, which could last around 12 days. It’s going to be a long road ahead for everyone involved.
