Highland Council will manage the Inverness bus route after Stagecoach’s exit, ensuring continued service for local residents.
Inverness: So, guess what? Highland Council is stepping in to take over the bus route that Stagecoach used to run. They’re doing this because Stagecoach decided to pull out.
The new service will connect Ness Castle with the city center, which is great news for folks who rely on public transport. Starting January 13, the council’s buses will be on the job.
This route, known as Service 16, will run six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. It’ll follow the same path as before, ending at Castle Street. Nice and easy!
Councillor Ken Gowans, who heads the Economy and Infrastructure Committee, is pretty excited about this. He thanked the bus staff for jumping in quickly to keep things running smoothly for everyone.
He mentioned how important this route is for local residents, especially those living in nearby housing developments. It’s all about making sure people can get in and out of the city without any hassle.
Keep an eye out for the timetable, which will be posted soon on the Highland Council Buses website and their Facebook page. It’s all coming together nicely!
