A Liverpool house destroyed by fire will be transformed into new apartments
Liverpool: A fire in April 2023 left a house on Arundel Avenue in ruins. A man had to be rescued from the blaze and was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The flames caused the roof to collapse, and neighbors described the sound as a “massive truck crashing.” It was quite a scene, with smoke billowing from the two-storey home.
Now, plans are in motion to rebuild the damaged property and turn it into apartments. The house, along with its neighbor, was built over a century ago and has seen better days.
Documents reveal that the fire caused extensive damage, making the home uninhabitable. While one side has been restored, the other is still in need of serious work.
Work is already underway to clear out the fire damage. The new plans include a new roof, windows, and a complete overhaul of the building. They’re looking to convert it into two apartments, which is a big change from its original family home status.
Fire crews were on the scene for hours, ensuring everything was safe before they left. The date for the planning decision is still up in the air, but it’s a step forward for the area.
