Barnard Castle is buzzing with excitement over plans for a new 24-hour cash machine to serve locals and visitors alike
Barnard Castle: The town lost its last bank, Barclays, last September, leaving residents without easy access to cash. It’s been a bit of a hassle for everyone.
But there’s good news! Cash for Access is coming to town on January 30 to chat with local campaigners about setting up a new ATM.
This visit was arranged by MP Sam Rushworth after some talks with the company. It’s a step in the right direction for the community.
The local campaign group, which includes town councillor Chris Foote-Wood, is really excited about this. They believe a banking hub could bring back full banking services.
Cllr Foote-Wood mentioned that Barnard Castle sees tons of visitors every year, and they all need access to cash, just like the locals do.
He’s hopeful that a new ATM can be set up quickly. The sooner, the better! If anyone has ideas for where it could go, they want to hear from you.
Cllr Foote-Wood will team up with Cash for Access and other county councillors to find the perfect spot for the ATM.
This banking hub and ATM will really help out Barnard Castle’s residents and visitors, bringing back some much-needed financial services to the area.
