A hot air balloon visit to Rucstall Primary School amazed students and inspired them with exciting adventures
Basingstoke: The kids at Rucstall Primary School were totally blown away when a hot air balloon landed right on their playground. Can you imagine the excitement?
The balloon, named ‘Freddie the Fox,’ was flown in for a special visit. The pilots even showed the kids how to inflate it and safely land it. How cool is that?
One of the teachers, Mrs. Earl, took a ride to demonstrate how the balloon goes up into the sky. The kids must have been cheering!
But that’s not all. Adventurer James Ketchell, who’s done some amazing things like rowing across the Atlantic and climbing Mount Everest, also stopped by. He talked to the older kids about his adventures and encouraged them to dream big.
Ruth Griffiths, the headteacher, shared how important these visits are for expanding the kids’ horizons. She believes these experiences are just as valuable as the lessons they learn in class.
Plus, the school is hosting an open event on January 9 at 9:15 AM for anyone interested in enrolling for September 2025. If you want to check it out, just reach out to their admin office.
And if you’re curious about James Ketchell, you can find more about him on his website. It’s pretty inspiring stuff!
