West Yorkshire Police have shared images of a suspect linked to attempted robberies in Horsforth last December
The first incident happened at a Subway on New Road Side. It was around 8 PM on December 12. A female staff member was pushed into the kitchen and threatened to open the safe. Luckily, a delivery driver walked in and scared the guy off, but not before he punched the driver.
Then, about half an hour later, this same suspect tried to jump over the counter at Morrisons Daily on Broadgate Lane. He yelled, “this is a robbery!” but the staff stopped him from getting into the storeroom, so he bolted.
As he was leaving, he even tried to grab a woman’s car keys but failed. He took off running up Broadgate Lane toward Town Street.
Police described the suspect as a white male, around 25 years old, dressed in a black puffer jacket, black trousers, and a balaclava. He was also carrying a big black crossbody bag.
They’re hoping someone might recognize his clothing since his face was covered. If you know anything, they want you to call Leeds District CID at 101 and mention the crime number.
