A nurse arranged to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex but was caught by police
Bluewater: An intensive care nurse tried to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex. He asked the boy for “nice and naughty pictures” online.
Rolly Flores, a 37-year-old NHS worker, chatted with the boy on Grindr and WhatsApp. He thought he was talking to a real teenager.
Flores was arrested after he planned to meet the boy at a shopping mall. He had second thoughts and canceled, but it was too late.
The boy was actually an undercover police officer. Flores initially denied any wrongdoing but later pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child.
In court, it was revealed that Flores knew the boy was 14. He still sent explicit images and arranged to meet for sex.
Flores lost his nursing job after his arrest. He has been supported by the Philippines embassy since then.
His lawyer argued for leniency, saying he regretted his actions. The judge decided to suspend his two-year jail sentence.
Flores must complete a rehabilitation program and perform community service. He will also be under a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
His nursing career is now in jeopardy, and a final decision on his suspension is expected soon.
