Inverness Castle Experience is looking for managers for visitor services, food, and retail roles as applications open now
Inverness: The Inverness Castle Experience is on the hunt for some new team members. They’re looking to fill three key management positions in visitor services, food and drink, and retail. If you’re interested, applications are open now!
This castle, which used to be a prison and court, is getting a makeover. It’s turning into a cool interactive visitor center that highlights the local culture and history. Sounds exciting, right?
The project is being run by High Life Highland, which is part of The Highland Council. They’ve got some funding from the Scottish and UK governments, plus other tourism-focused groups. It’s a big deal for the area!
Councillor Ian Brown, who’s a big player in the Inverness Castle Project, expressed his excitement about these new roles. He mentioned they’re looking for folks who are passionate about sharing the beauty and stories of the region while providing top-notch service to visitors.
The jobs will involve making sure visitors have a great experience, running the food services, and managing the shop. Garry Marsden, who heads up the Inverness Castle Experience, said these roles are super important for the project’s success.
He also mentioned that this is a unique chance to help shape a new chapter in the Highlands’ story. They’re eager to welcome a talented team to join them.
This £30 million project includes renovations to the gardens and the castle’s interior, plus a new café and terrace with views of the River Ness. How lovely!
One of the castle’s towers will feature a sensory museum experience, guided by a “seanchaidh” or storyteller. The other tower will be home to the Ceilidh Rooms, celebrating Inverness’s musical culture, featuring music and stories from local favorites like Runrig.
If you’re thinking about applying, keep in mind that the deadline is January 31, and the roles are set to start in May. However, they haven’t announced an opening date for the experience yet.
