A family in Inverness faced a terrifying encounter with a knife-wielding intruder, forcing them to flee for safety and call for help
It all went down on the evening of August 29, 2024, when 22-year-old Ellis Williams showed up in their kitchen at Riverside Court. The poor mom and her kids were just trying to get by when he started causing chaos.
The court heard that Williams seemed to be under the influence of something. When the mom slammed the kitchen door to protect her kids, he went wild, shouting and stabbing the door with his knife.
She yelled for help, and thankfully, a neighbor came to assist. But things got even crazier when Williams confronted the neighbor and lunged at the woman’s son, narrowly missing him.
Eventually, they managed to trap Williams inside the flat until the police arrived. He was not done yet, though. He chained the door shut and started threatening the officers, even throwing a toaster and breaking a window.
The police finally got him out when some of his friends showed up. Williams admitted to threatening behavior and having a knife, and now he’s waiting for psychological assessments. His lawyer mentioned that he knows he’ll likely end up in custody.
The sheriff is taking this seriously, calling for a risk assessment and setting a sentencing date for February 18. It sounds like there’s a real concern about what he might do when he gets out.
