A 23-year-old mechanic was arrested after repeatedly ignoring police warnings during a city centre disturbance in Inverness
Police were cruising around when they spotted the commotion and decided to step in. They pulled over and separated Bryson from the group, telling him to move along. But guess what? He didn’t listen and jumped back into the fray, which led to his arrest.
In court, the fiscal depute, Karen Poke, explained that the police kept an eye on things near the taxi rank. When Bryson returned, they had to take action. She said he resisted arrest, pulling away and flailing his arms like he was trying to escape.
Eventually, they managed to get one handcuff on him, but he was still putting up a fight. It took a few more officers to finally get him secured and into a police van.
Bryson, who lives on Bruce Avenue, admitted to resisting arrest, which happened on December 27, 2023, just after 4 am. His lawyer, David Patterson, mentioned that he had been drinking but insisted this behavior was out of character for him. Apparently, his brother had been assaulted earlier that night, which might have added to the stress.
In the end, Bryson was fined £420. He knows he should have just listened to the police in the first place, and maybe he wouldn’t have ended up in this situation.
