Dorset ATMs were tampered with between January 10-19. Victims reported suspicious devices on ATMs leading to fraudulent account charges.
Victims reported odd things on the ATMs. They saw cameras by the card slots, as well as big, bulky equipment near the slots. It looked like someone tampered with them.
A detective named Christian Bryant spoke about it. He said they started an investigation to find the people who did this. The police want to hold them responsible.
He wants people to be careful and check ATMs before you use them. Look for anything that seems strange and hide your PIN when you type it. Don’t let anyone see it.
If you see something suspicious, tell the ATM owner. They can then protect other folks from fraud and stop people from getting scammed. This may prevent future issues.
