Plans for a children’s home in Ipswich are stirring worries, with police citing past incidents and safety concerns.
The council is now looking at the proposal again. Cops have some worries about it, and they talked to the council.
Police said many things happened nearby last year. From December 2023 to December 2024, they logged 98 events that happened close to the house.
Cops think the kids might be noisy. They said three kids with complex needs could make noise, which could bother the neighbors. Bramford Lane also gets a lot of traffic, and kids could get hurt if not watched closely.
A police advisor worried about missing kids. The site is near another place with 90 young people and also near the town center, so kids might run away easier there.
Carole Jones is a local council member who also does not want this care unit. She thinks it is wrong for that building.
Jones stated that residents lack good space, and the layout of the rooms is also concerning. The council already said no last August.
Jones thinks this is about money. She believes the owners want profit and thinks this idea is not suitable at all. Jones hopes the council will reject this proposal.
