The Farmer’s Dog reassures customers it will remain open despite recent snowfall
Burford: So, Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, just posted a big update on Instagram. They’re letting everyone know they’re open today, even with all that snow that fell over the weekend.
After the snow caused a bit of chaos—like shutting down airports and cancelling football matches—the pub is ready to welcome folks in for their Sunday carvery. They even shared a cute snowy pic of the place on Instagram.
They said, “Come rain or shine, we’ll be here,” and they’re open until 10:30 PM tonight. Plus, they’ve got some walk-in spots available for that delicious Sunday meal.
Just a few days ago, they mentioned some exciting changes coming in 2025. They’ll let you book lunch in advance, but don’t worry, there’ll still be room for walk-ins.
Oh, and they’re now open six days a week, only closing on Mondays. Doors will open earlier too, at 11 AM. Locals will even get a special treat on Monday nights when the pub is closed to everyone else—drinks and bar snacks just for them!
In a recent post, they asked followers what they’re looking forward to in 2025. A lot of people chimed in, saying they want the pub to sell those cool Hawkstone pint glasses as souvenirs.
One person suggested they charge a refundable deposit for the glasses, like they do at Christmas markets. Another just flat out asked why they don’t sell them in the pub. Seems like a popular idea!
Clarkson himself has been pretty candid about the challenges at the pub. He mentioned in his column that things behind the scenes have been a “total disaster,” but he reassured everyone that it doesn’t show when you visit.
