A JetBlue flight faced chaos when a passenger opened an emergency door during a dispute with his girlfriend, leading to his arrest.
Boston: So, there was this wild scene on a JetBlue flight recently. A guy got into a heated argument with his girlfriend and, out of nowhere, he yanked open the emergency door. Can you believe that?
This all went down on Flight 161, which was supposed to head to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The plane was still on the taxiway when the guy decided to make his move around 7:30 PM. Talk about a crazy moment!
Luckily, some passengers, including an FBI agent, jumped in to help. They managed to subdue him before the Massachusetts State Police arrived to take him away. What a relief, right?
JetBlue said they’re not sure why he opened the door, but they had to switch planes to get everyone to their destination. Thankfully, no one got hurt in the chaos.
The guy hasn’t been named yet, but he was arrested and is set to face a judge soon. We still don’t know what charges he’ll be facing, though.
Now, the FAA is looking into what happened. A passenger who witnessed the whole thing said the couple was arguing right behind him. He described how the boyfriend just snapped and went for the door.
“It was wild,” said Fred Wynn, the passenger. “The FBI agent tackled him, and then the state police came on board.”
Other flights were delayed because of this incident, but thankfully, state police said there was no real threat to anyone. Just a crazy night at the airport!
