A community meeting is set for January 20 to establish a Friends Group for Farnley Fish Pond
The pond has been through a lot, but thanks to some funding, it’s been restored beautifully. The work wrapped up last November, and now folks want to keep it looking great.
Peter Allison, a local resident, is really passionate about this. He grew up around the pond and knows how important it is to the community. He started the Farnley & Wortley Litter Pickers group and believes the pond deserves more than just a clean-up.
He’s thrilled about the dredging and clearing that’s been done and is eager to help form this new group with the support of Leeds City Council. Peter encourages everyone to come to the meeting and lend a hand.
The gathering will be at Farnley Community Centre, starting at 6 pm, with doors opening at 5:30 pm. And guess what? There’ll be free tea and coffee! If you want to know more, you can reach out to Peter via email or on Facebook.
Farnley Community Centre is located off Cross Lane, so it’s easy to find. Let’s come together and make sure our local nature reserve stays a gem for everyone!
