Inverness: The Kessock Bridge is getting some much-needed TLC. They’ve kicked off a £2 million project to strengthen the bridge towers. This work was delayed a bit, but it’s finally happening.

These upgrades are set to last until October 2025. While they’re working, one side of the cycleway and footway will be closed. Don’t worry, they’ll switch it to the other side halfway through.

There will also be some overnight closures, but the road will stay open during the day. Just keep an eye on the Traffic Scotland website for updates, so you can plan your trips accordingly.

Ian Stewart from BEAR Scotland mentioned that they’re not just strengthening the structure. They’re also upgrading wind measurement equipment and improving access for their teams. It’s all about safety!

They’ll be installing new anemometers to help manage the bridge during storms. So, if you’re driving over, expect some lane closures overnight for deliveries, but they promise delays will be minimal.

Thanks for your patience, everyone! It’s all for a safer and stronger Kessock Bridge.
