South London: A 27-year-old laborer named Dajour Jones has been sentenced to at least 27 years for the horrific murder of 20-year-old Jamie Gilbey. This guy really went off the rails, attacking Jamie in a brutal way and then dismembering his body. It’s just chilling.
Jones didn’t even bother to show up for his sentencing at the Old Bailey. The judge, Nigel Lickley, called him a “violent and dangerous individual.” He made it clear that Jamie was just starting his life, and Jones took that away from him.
Jamie was last seen heading into Jones’s room at their hostel on January 27, 2022. Prosecutors described the attack as “sustained and particularly disturbing.” It’s hard to wrap your head around how someone could do that to another person.
