A Kilwinning man has pleaded guilty to shouting racist abuse in Stevenston, facing serious consequences for his actions
Stevenston: So, there’s this guy, David MacLeod, who got into some serious trouble recently. He showed up at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to a bunch of charges.
This all went down last February when he was out on New Street. Apparently, he was acting all aggressive, shouting racist stuff, swearing, and banging on shopfronts and cars. Not cool at all.
David, who’s 38 and lives in Kilwinning, also broke his bail conditions by being out during curfew hours. The court heard that a guy was working nearby when David started causing a scene.
He was shouting some pretty nasty things, using terms like “black b*****d,” and just hanging around, hitting shopfronts and parked cars. It was a real mess.
The police were called, and they caught him. They found out he was also breaching his bail. His lawyer mentioned that David didn’t fully own up to his actions at first, but now he gets how serious it is.
David’s been dealing with some heavy drug and alcohol issues, but he’s trying to turn things around. He’s attending support groups and making progress.
In the end, the sheriff gave him 12 months of supervision and 150 hours of unpaid work to do in six months. They’re also holding off on sentencing him for another charge until March next year, hoping he stays out of trouble.
