A police officer from Kirklees faces serious charges involving a girl under 13, with court proceedings set to begin soon
Kirklees: So, there’s some really serious news coming out of West Yorkshire. A police officer named PC Marcus Newbold has been charged with raping a girl who is under 13. Can you believe that?
This guy, who’s just 29, is set to appear in court on January 3. The charges include some pretty awful stuff, like assault and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity. It’s all linked to incidents that happened between 2007 and 2011.
Newbold joined the police force in January 2021, but the allegations only came to light in September 2022. Since then, he’s been suspended from his duties. It’s just shocking to think someone in a position of trust could be involved in something like this.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed the charges and said they relate to one victim. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved, and it’s hard to wrap your head around how something like this could happen.
