Telford: So, there’s been a lot of talk about the grooming gang scandal, right? Most of the guys involved were of Pakistani origin, and it’s a pretty serious issue.

The Commons had a heated moment when Kemi Badenoch called out Labour MPs from these grooming hotspots. She wanted them to back a national inquiry into the abuse that’s been happening.

She accused Sir Keir Starmer of telling his MPs, including those from places like Telford and Rochdale, to vote against looking into these horrific cases where kids were systematically abused.

These towns have seen some really high-profile cases of grooming gangs, and it’s mostly been men of Pakistani heritage abusing young girls. It’s just heartbreaking.

Reports have shown that over 1,000 girls were abused over 40 years, and sadly, many agencies blamed the victims instead of helping them.

While a lot of the perpetrators were of Pakistani origin, some cases didn’t even get looked into because people were too scared to address the race issue.

Even Greater Manchester Police had to apologize for not investigating allegations of child sexual exploitation involving British Pakistani men. It’s just a mess.

So far, 42 people have been convicted, but a report said that the investigations barely scratched the surface of what really happened. Many girls were left vulnerable to their abusers.

In 2014, 13 men of Somali origin were also convicted for sexual offenses against underage girls. It’s just so wrong.

Back in 2010, 13 men of Pakistani origin were found guilty of abusing up to 100 girls. Some of the stuff that went down was just shocking.

In 2015, five men were convicted for serious sexual offenses against two underage girls in Buckinghamshire. The judge said they were groomed for just a few treats like a McDonald’s meal.

Girls were groomed in all sorts of places, like council houses and shisha bars. A report found that the police and council really let these victims down.

One victim was even told to come back when she wasn’t drunk. Can you believe that?

Robbie Moore, the Tory MP for Keighley, warned that the scale of child sexual abuse in his city could be even worse than what happened in Rotherham.

But the local authority isn’t keen on holding a public inquiry. They think a review from 2021 was enough. It’s frustrating.

In 2014 and 2015, ten men of Pakistani heritage were found guilty of sexual offenses against girls as young as 12. They would befriend vulnerable girls and lure them in with money and drugs.

In 2017, a gang of five men was jailed for sex trafficking six teenage girls, and they even filmed some of the attacks. It’s just despicable.

There were also cases where a gang of 17 men abused girls as young as 13 from 2010 to 2014, and they came from all sorts of backgrounds.

It’s a tough situation, and it’s clear that there’s a lot more to uncover. The victims deserve justice, and we need to keep talking about this.
