Lalkilla Indian takeaway in Orford has been given a one-star food hygiene rating after a recent inspection by local authorities
Warrington: So, the other day, the environmental team from Warrington Borough Council dropped by Lalkilla on Orford Lane for a routine check.
They just published the results on the Food Standards Agency website, and it’s not looking great. The takeaway got a one-out-of-five food hygiene score.
Now, they look at three main areas during these inspections: how food is handled, the cleanliness of the place, and how food safety is managed.
First up is hygienic food handling, which covers everything from cooking to storage. Then, they check if the place is clean and if it has the right setup for good hygiene.
Lastly, they want to see if the staff knows their stuff about food safety and if the place has systems in place to keep things safe.
For Lalkilla, they said improvement is necessary for food handling. The cleanliness part got a ‘generally satisfactory’ score, but the management of food safety needs major improvements.
