Laverstock: The Mulepackers Country and Western Dance group has been busy fundraising, and their efforts are paying off. They recently presented a £1700 cheque to the Laverstock & Ford Village Hall. This money will help with some much-needed repairs.

The cheque was handed over during a festive line dancing Christmas party on December 21. It was a lovely occasion for everyone involved.

The hall has seen better days and needs quite a bit of work. Repairs are needed for the drains, roof, and exterior walls, plus some internal decorating. It’s a popular spot for local social groups, so these upgrades are really important.

Ruth Harris, the committee and bookings secretary, expressed gratitude to the line dancers and their leaders, Mel Cane and Mike Sainsbury, for their generous donation. She mentioned that the hall management will keep fundraising in 2025.

Mel shared how nice it was for the Mulepackers to learn about the hall’s needs. They do both line and western partner dancing at the hall and choose a local charity to support each year. Their fundraising efforts include social dances, raffles, and even a summer garden party at a member’s home.
