Peabody: So, there was this wild scene at an arcade in Massachusetts. A Lego display came crashing down during a New Year’s Eve party, and it hurt ten people. Can you believe that?

The whole thing happened at the In the Game arcade during their “Noon Year’s Eve” bash. Apparently, balloons that were tied to the display got pulled down, and that’s what caused the big Lego structure to fall from about 12 feet up. Yikes!

There’s even video from the day before showing these huge nets filled with colorful balloons hanging over the Lego displays. It looked pretty festive, but things took a turn when the party started. The staff struggled to get the balloons down, and someone pulled too hard, leading to the disaster.

Most of the injuries were minor, but eight people ended up going to the hospital. Six of those hurt were kids, which is just heartbreaking. One witness, Lawren Turco, described the chaos, saying there were Lego pieces everywhere and kids crying. It sounds like a scene straight out of a movie!

Turco said it was total mayhem, and she didn’t even realize how bad it was until after the fact. Just goes to show, you never know what can happen at a party, right?
