The Southend Coastguard successfully rescued an adult and child from a stranded vessel, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Southend: On Saturday evening, the coastguard got a call at 8:19 PM about some folks stuck on a boat. They quickly jumped into action to help.
They assessed the situation and arranged for a hovercraft from the RNLI to rescue the two passengers. It was a smooth operation.
A spokesperson mentioned that the Southend Coastguard worked directly with the people on the boat to check on their condition before getting them safely off the vessel.
They managed to get one adult and one child back to safety at the RNLI Inshore boathouse, where Coastguard officers were waiting to assist.
They also reminded everyone that if you see someone in trouble near the coast, just call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. You could really make a difference.
Earlier that day, around 11:27 AM, the coastguard had to deal with a report of a dead fox found on the Shoebury Garrison MOD beaches, which they took care of.
Then, at 4:20 PM, they responded to another call about something struggling in the water off Ocean Beach, Southchurch. Turns out, it was just a seal having a good time!
