Buenos Aires: So, it turns out Liam Payne’s death was due to something called polytrauma, which means he had multiple injuries. This was confirmed during an inquest in the UK.
The hearing took place on December 17 at the Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court. They mentioned it might take a while to figure out exactly what happened to the 31-year-old star.
Five people are facing charges related to his death after he fell from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel. It’s a pretty serious situation.
Among those charged are the hotel manager, a receptionist, and a friend of Liam’s. The hotel manager is Gilda Martin, and the receptionist is Esteban Grassi. His friend, Roger Nores, is also in the mix.
Two other hotel staff members have been charged for allegedly supplying cocaine. It’s a lot to unpack, honestly.
The inquest in the UK has been put on hold until a pre-inquest review scheduled for November 6. They’re still gathering all the necessary information.
Dr. Roberto Victor Cohen confirmed that Liam’s cause of death was polytrauma, which is just a fancy way of saying he had multiple traumatic injuries.
During the hearing, they described Liam as a “singer and entertainer.” They even had to identify him with help from funeral directors in Buckinghamshire.
The Senior Coroner, Crispin Butler, mentioned that while investigations are ongoing in Argentina, it might take some time to get all the details sorted out through official channels.
