Lincolnshire Police are investigating two deaths in Stamford’s Northumberland Avenue within eight days, seeking to reassure the public.
Stamford: So, here’s the scoop. The police are trying to calm everyone down after two people died on the same street in just over a week.
Last Sunday, a 48-year-old man was found dead in Northumberland Avenue. The police got a call about a welfare check, and sadly, it didn’t end well.
They arrested a 50-year-old guy in connection with it, but he’s been let go on bail for now.
The police are still digging into what happened. They said they’re keeping an open mind and looking into all possible leads.
One officer mentioned that they’ve assessed the situation and there’s no immediate risk to the public, which is a relief.
They’re waiting on a post-mortem from the Home Office, and they’ll share more info once they have it. That should help ease some worries.
Just a week earlier, on December 29, a woman in her 40s was also found dead on the same street. They arrested a man for that too, but he was released without any charges.
So, yeah, the police are still trying to figure out what’s going on with these unexplained deaths.
