Two teenagers from London were arrested following a tragic hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a woman in her 60s in Essex
Buckhurst Hill: Two teens from London are in hot water after a woman in her 60s was killed in a hit-and-run on Christmas Eve. The pair, aged 17 and 16, were nabbed along with a 20-year-old from Loughton.
Emergency services rushed to Palmerston Road around 7:30 AM last Tuesday, but sadly, the woman died right there at the scene.
It turns out a grey Jaguar XJ zoomed off without stopping. The road was closed for a while as police got to work investigating what happened.
On December 30, the three were arrested on serious charges, including causing death by dangerous driving. The older guy got released on bail until March 13, while the teens have to wait until March 14.
Detective Sergeant Sam Nason expressed his condolences to the victim’s family, who are getting support from specialized officers.
He also mentioned they’re looking for anyone who might have seen the grey Jaguar XJ around the time of the accident in Buckhurst Hill or Chingford.
If you have any info, CCTV, or dash cam footage related to the crash, Essex Police would love to hear from you. Just mention incident 171 from December 24.
