Tragic news as one of the lynx captured in Kingussie has died, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding its death
Dr. Helen Senn, who leads conservation efforts, expressed her sadness over the loss. They’re not sure yet what caused the lynx’s death, but a postmortem will be done to find out more. It’s a real shame, especially since these animals were just trying to adapt to a new environment.
She pointed out that this situation highlights the risks of releasing wild animals without proper preparation. The stress of being in a new and harsh setting must have been overwhelming for them.
The good news is that the remaining lynx will receive top-notch care. The surviving one will be taken to Edinburgh for quarantine, where it will join two others that were captured earlier.
Dr. Senn also thanked the local community for their incredible support during this challenging time. It’s heartwarming to see everyone come together for these beautiful creatures.
