A three-vehicle crash on the M6 in Birmingham has shut down lanes, leading to significant traffic delays for motorists.
Birmingham: So, there was a pretty serious crash on the M6 today. It involved three vehicles, including two lorries and a car. The accident happened between Junction 5 and Junction 4a, which connects to the M42.
Because of the crash, two lanes are closed, and traffic is backed up for about five miles. Drivers are stuck in delays that could last up to an hour. Not fun at all!
And it’s not just the lanes affected by the crash. Traffic on the other side is crawling too, thanks to all the rubberneckers checking out the scene. This stretch of road is already one of the busiest in the West Midlands.
National Highways West Midlands is on it, with traffic officers and recovery teams working to clear things up. BirminghamLive has reached out to emergency services for more info.
This is still a developing story, so keep an eye out for updates as the afternoon goes on.
