A significant gas leak at a Scottish stadium has led to the postponement of an important match, frustrating fans and officials alike
Greenock: So, there was a major gas leak at Cappielow Stadium, and it’s thrown a wrench in the plans for the big game. The club had to postpone the match against Raith Rovers, which is a real bummer for everyone involved.
The club said it was a “frustrating” situation and that they’ve brought in specialists to sort it out. They had already pushed the game back a day because the pitch was struggling with the cold weather. Talk about bad luck!
Even without the gas leak, the pitch was still in rough shape and probably wouldn’t have been ready for the match. The club’s spokesperson mentioned that they were racing against time to make it playable.
Fans are understandably upset, and the club feels the same way. They promised to announce a new date for the match soon, so at least there’s hope on the horizon.
Interestingly, a ScotRail spokesperson said that train services nearby are still running as usual, despite the gas leak being close to the railway line. So, if you’re planning to head to Greenock, you should be good to go!
