A major motorway in Greater Manchester was shut down for 12 hours after a body was found, prompting a police appeal for witnesses.
Greater Manchester: A major motorway was shut down for 12 hours after a man’s body was discovered. The police got the call around 4:30 AM on Saturday about the M61.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, the man was already deceased. Thankfully, police don’t think there’s anything suspicious about his death.
Now, the Serious Collision Investigation Unit and Bolton CID are working together on this case. They’re asking anyone who might have seen something or has dashcam footage to reach out.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said they were called to check on a man’s welfare on the M61. Unfortunately, they found a deceased male at junction 6 (Middlebrook).
They reiterated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who might have been in the area at that time.
