A tragic incident in West Yorkshire leads to the arrest of two individuals following the death of an 18-year-old
Castleford: A man and a woman were arrested after a teenager tragically lost his life in a car crash at a sewage treatment plant. It’s a heartbreaking situation.
Police got the call early on Sunday morning about a vehicle that had veered off Wheldon Road and ended up in a ditch. When they arrived, they found a white Volkswagen Golf partly submerged in water.
Sadly, they discovered an 18-year-old man just a few yards from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s just so sad to think about.
The young man was from the Wakefield area. Meanwhile, the two people in the car, both 21, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
After looking into the situation, police arrested them on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. It’s a serious charge, and they’re really digging into what happened.
Photos from the scene show the car wreck in a ditch filled with wastewater, which is just a grim sight. The major collision inquiry team is on the case and is asking anyone who saw the car before the crash to come forward.
If anyone has any video footage that could help, they’re encouraged to reach out. It’s important to get to the bottom of this.
